I have been a Fine Artist, Industrial Designer,
Exhibit Designer and a Brewer in my day.
Throughout it all I have maintained a
project studio for recording and composing
original music for my own amusement.
As a fine artist I am a Surrealist.
Surrealism drives my musical bus as well.
This makes my music very personal.
Enjoy.
I discovered
Musique Concrete in the
mid 1980s listening to
university radio stations.
I eventually volunteered at
The Music Factory in
downtown Toronto where
my musical interests
were greatly expanded.
By 1996 I had completed
my first CD length project.
Surrealist Soundscapes.
One of my favorite
musical experiences
is Free Jazz or
Improvisational Jazz.
Absinthe - Conspicuous
Consumption was
created in
Victoria, BC in 1998
with multi-instrumentalist
Kevin Leitch.
We miss you brother,
Stay frosty.
Frogs is my latest album.
I took field recordings
frogs at dusk and converted the audio files into Midi data.
This allowed me to assign
virtual instruments to this data
and to remove the parts
that didn't work.
The resulting symphonic
arrangements were augmented
with some electro-acoustic
elements for the fun of it.
